Frequently Asked Questions

What does Bowen Technique treat?

Bowen helps almost anything! Very often clients who come to me have tried many different therapies and treatments with little success but experience huge relief with Bowen!

How does Bowen Technique work?

Bowen Stimulates the nervous system to communicate with the brain effectively again, causing a 'restart' effect to occur, promoting the bodies innate ability to heal.

Can Bowen treatment help sciatica?

Yes Absolutely! When sciatica occurs the Sciatic Nerve, that runs from the spinal cord down each leg, begins to become compressed by tight and tense muscles in the Lower back, Glutes, all the muscles in your legs and feet causing a great deal of pain and discomfort. This is often caused by overweighting one leg, being sat for long periods of time or a sudden jarring.  Bowen helps re-create alignment and relaxation in these muscles therefore relieving the pain.  Bowen can also help prevent Sciatica from reoccurring with regular treatments.

Can Bowen technique help depression?

Depression, mood swings, weight and sleep issues, low self-esteem and so on are very often the result of our endocrine system being out of balance. The endocrine system is in charge of regulating our bodily functions such as the release of hormones. Bowen helps to re-balance the body including the endocrine system helping to ensure hormones are produced and released at proper intervals, therefore helping our mental health.

What happens during Hypnotherapy session?

The client is usually sat or lying down and allows their eyes to close. Once the body is relaxed, all the client has to do is listen to the suggestions made by the Hypnotherapist.  Then the hypnotherapist will ask the client to open their eyes again following a period of time.

How many Hypnotherapy sessions will I need?

Each client is different so it will be different for everybody but usually clients have had their problem or issues for some time, so it can take a number of sessions to allow for progress to be made.

What is the difference between Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a natural state where the subconscious mind is most susceptible. Hypnotherapy uses the benefit for this natural state to place positive suggestions to the subconscious mind in order to make changes.
